I loved being a part of this beautiful wedding. Megan and Mitch did a wonderful job planning their wedding at the Goldmoor Inn. Such an awesome day!

Anlis and Mitch were initially planning a wedding in Des Moines but they had to change plans because they moved to South Dakota. So I got a chance to travel to and see a new state
. As an Iowa wedding photographer I don’t get to photograph weddings in a lot of urban settings but I do get to know a lot of awesome people and Anlis and Mitch were no exception.
Here are a few photos from their Brookings, SD wedding:

Ceremony: St. Thomas More Catholic Church
Reception: Shamrock
I loved every single wedding I photographed in 2011 and I couldn’t have asked for better clients. I am one lucky photographer, I must admit that. I got the chance to work at some great venues like The Salisbury House in Des Moines, Simpson Barn, The grand River Center, a private cabin in northern Michigan or The Rose Inn of Okoboji and I hope to return to these fantastic venues to shoot this year.
Here are a few of my favorite wedding photos from last year. Browse through my blog to discover yours!

A glorious day full of love, laughter and dancing. Started the beautiful, warm day at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dubuque. This is where everyone got ready and where the ceremony took place.
The reception was held at The Grand River Center with some bus partying and bus hopping in between.

It was such a privilege to photograph Emily and Matt’s intimate wedding in northern Michigan. The whole wedding theme revolved around having a great celebration with very close friends and family. The cabin was on the AuSable river which is one of the best rivers for trout fly fishing. It is considered one of the best brown trout fisheries east of the Rockies.
Emily and Matt are both great chefs working at the Ritz Carlton in Florida and they cooked all the food for their guests. I must say that it was the BEST FOOD I have ever eaten at a wedding.

A few frames from a wedding I shot earlier this year in Galena, IL at the Goldmoor Inn. I loved this beautiful moment when the bride got her wedding dress on – so emotional! More to come soon from this beautiful wedding.
