How I love Chicago with its many great opportunities for interesting photography. Pair the beauty of this city with a cool couple and you will have the perfect recipe for a great engagement session. The view from their rooftop was just the cherry on top of the amazing day we spent together.
Every time I get to shoot a Chicago engagement session I get very excited because there are so many great locations to shoot in this city. We started the day early at City Grounds coffee shop in Lincoln Park. I am not a big coffee drinker but having one with a croissant while I was waiting for Vassaly and Huu was such a great start for the day. The sounds of the city, the fresh paper, the smell of coffee – it was just perfect. I guess I miss living in a big city.
Our first stop was the beach which provided a nice view of the city skyline then we walked around the neighborhood, stopping from time to time as I saw a good photo opportunity.
We had lunch at La Creperie – a family own restaurant which serves some amazing crepes. My first time there but I highly recommend it!
The last spot on our list was the Millennium Park. I just love the juxtaposition of the lush, green gardens against the tall buildings in the background.
I got to spend a beautiful day in Okoboji photographing Nicole and Jon’s engagement session. They showed me around town, had lunch at an amazing mexican restaurant, got coffee at Jon’s favorite coffee shop and got some great pictures together.
I got a preview of how their wedding is going to be and I can’t be more excited to get back and photograph it in August. It is going to be amazing. I promise.
A few favorites from Katie & Eben’s engagement session. They’re a cool couple and I had a great time spending a few hours with them around Ellis and Manhattan parks and downtown Cedar Rapids. Can’t wait for their amazing wedding!
I spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon with Christina and Chris for their engagement session. I’ve chosen a few spots downtown Cedar Rapids to start with and then we headed to Squaw Creek. There were at least two weddings taking place there:)
