NYC

I love to travel and there are very few destinations that I love as much as NYC. There’s something magic about this city and from time to time we go there to satisfy our cravings for urban settings. It’s so reinvigorating to wander aimlessly through the streets of Manhattan. Even more so around Christmas when the sidewalks and stores are even more crowded.

The Bergdorf Goodman Christmas windows are famous are really beautiful and they have something different each year. It’s really incredible how much work goes into setting them up.

Across the street there’s a Tiffany store and their windows are worth seeing too:)

Spain – Costa del Sol

It’s hard to comprehend the beauty of Spain in a few words so I hope some photos would do it more justice. I fell in love with Spain a few years ago when we visited Barcelona.
This time we went to Malaga on Costa del Sol.

Ronda is about an hour and a half away from Malaga and it’s well worth the trip. Plaza de Toros de Ronda is the oldest bullfight arena in spain. The construction was finished in 1785 and every year it hosts the ‘Corrida Goyesca’ – a historical bullfight.

For one of the best views in Malaga you should go to Hotel AC Malaga. If you go there at night be prepared for a stunning view of the port and the Cathedral.

I can only imagine how stunning a wedding here would be and I would love to be given the opportunity to photograph one:)

Another day trip was to Tarifa, at the Gibraltar Straight. It’s the most southern point of continental europe. You can see the coast of Africa which is about 12 miles away. We didn’t get across the straight but you can get a ferry to Morocco for about 35 euros per person.

Malaga is the birthplace of Pablo Picasso so you can visit both the Picasso Museum and the and the Museo Casa Natal.

I’m trying to be as useful as possible with this blog post so here are some restaurant recommendations in Malaga: Bodega el Pimpi – I had some amazing veal here but everything else is just as tasteful and the atmosphere is awesome. Another nice restaurant is Meson Mariano at C/ GRANADOS, 9. If you like icecream get some at Freskito. It’s across the street from el pimpi – very convenient, I know :) .

Aruba

Some of my favorite frames from our June Aruba vacation. Hopefully I will return there to shoot a wedding. Seemed like a popular wedding destination:).

Portugal

Who can ask for more when you have beautiful weather in a rustic location and a large group of people ready to enjoy their long-awaited vacation?
We had a week to discover the surroundings of Albufeira which is one of the most popular destination in the Algarve area.

I really enjoyed my stay there. The people are very laid back and friendly and a lot of them speak English, probably because a lot of British like to spend the summer holiday there. We had some really nice, secluded beaches near the villa but we spent most of the time by the pool because the ocean was just too cold to swim.

We spent the last day of the trip in Lisbon, trying to see as much of the city as we could. I’d really like to come back there one day and to see more of it but my first impression was that Lisbon is very similar to Barcelona but less crowded.

When the night came we went to Bairro Alto which is a neighborhood famous for its bars and Fado Restaurants. If you ever find yourself wandering on the narrow streets of Bairro Alto I suggest you should check out Cafe Luso. Although it’s rather expensive it is worth it for the great live Fado music.
