Being a wedding photographer gave me the chance to travel quite a bit and one of the places that I got to travel this summer is Oelwein, Iowa. Kate and Dave, the couple that got married, brought a little bit of Texas with them. Dave is a proud texan and you can see it through a lot of the wedding details.
First photographs in this set are from the rehearsal dinner which was held in Kate parents’ backyard. It was a fun, relaxed party that got everyone in the mood next days’ party.
The best way to keep beverages cool for your backyard rehearsal dinner:
I started the wedding day photographing the bride and the bridesmaids getting their hair and make-up done at Studio 17 in Oelwein.
While the girls were getting ready the groom and groomsmen were waiting in the church parking lot.
Kate and Dave decided to have a “first look” moment before the ceremony so we went to the Oelwein City Park to take some photos of them seeing each other for the first time in their wedding attire, as well as some group photos.
A lot of cool wedding decorations!
I am lucky to get to photograph amazing weddings like this one. I had a blast spending two days in Oelwein, starting on Friday with the fun backyard rehearsal dinner and continuing with all the crazy party on Saturday. Get in touch if you are looking for a wedding photographer in Oelwein -I’d love to get back!
