Marissa and Dan is one couple that really knows how to throw a party. I was really excited when I received the email from Marissa telling me about her Festhalle barn wedding plans. It’s one of my favorite venues here in Iowa and I knew that she had great plans with lots of diy projects.
Getting ready
Marissa and her bridesmaids started the day at Expressions Salon and Spa. They had a great time having their hair and makeup done together.
Dan and the boys got ready at their house in Cedar Rapids.
The wedding ceremony at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church
I really liked shooting at St. Wenceslaus – it is a beautiful church with a lot of nice architectural details. The stained glass windows are stunning!
Their exit was a lot of fun too. They had an used tandem bike, restored it and used it for their ceremony exit.
The Festhalle barn wedding reception
If you are planning a barn wedding in Iowa you need to see Festhalle. It’s one of the best venues of this kind around here. Taking the time to decorate it with a lot of diy decorations will guarantee a wedding just like you would see in a magazine. It gets a little hot in the summer but that doesn’t bother people that just want to have a good time, dance and celebrate.
If you’re planning a Festhalle barn wedding please get in touch, I would love to be there to document your celebration!
